AtRecess is a social media platform designed with the intent of fostering genuine real-world connections and strengthening community interactions.

Members are organized into "Circles," which group individuals based on their physical relationships. These Circles can represent Family, Friends, Academic cohorts, Sports teams, Gaming partners, or other community types. The Circle functionality serves multiple purposes, including:

• Acting as a People Directory for locating and contacting relevant individuals or mutual acquaintances (e.g., a parent reaching out to another parent).
• Serving as a social media feed where users can share updates about their lives or organizations, engage with comments, and coordinate events.
• Supporting group chat functionalities for direct messaging among members.

For parents, the platform offers features aimed at promoting a safe and supervised environment for their children. These include:

• An AI-powered content flagging system designed to be minimally invasive while maintaining appropriate oversight.
• A Peek-a-boo feature enabling parents to view their child's activity without intrusive monitoring.
• Screen time management tools and restrictions to encourage healthy usage habits.
